Consistency Over Intensity. What Your Body Actually Responds To

There’s a common belief that results come from doing more.

More intensity.
More pressure.
More frequent treatments in a short space of time.

But the body doesn’t respond best to intensity.

It responds to consistency.

This is something I’ve been reminded of recently while training for my half marathon.

Progress doesn’t come from one long run.
It comes from showing up regularly, even on the days you don’t feel like it.

The same applies to the body when it comes to tension.

Jaw clenching, facial tightness and muscle holding patterns don’t happen overnight. They build slowly through daily habits, stress and posture.

Over time, the muscles adapt.

They hold tension as their “normal”.

One treatment can create a noticeable release.

But long-term change comes from repetition.

From gently reminding the body what it feels like to soften.

From supporting the nervous system so it feels safe enough to let go of that tension.

This is why I often recommend a short course of treatments followed by maintenance.

Not because more is better, but because the body responds to consistency.

Whether it’s running, movement or therapeutic facial work, the principle is the same.

Small, supportive actions repeated over time create the biggest shift.

With love and calm,
Sarah 🤍
